What we keep, and why
You can vote without telling us who you are. We record what happens on the site against a random number that means nothing anywhere else. We don’t sell data, we don’t run adverts, and we don’t follow you around the web.
Stored in your browser
A few things are saved on your own device so the site works and remembers what you did.
- A random ID for your browser
- Local storageKept until you clear your browser data. It isn’t made from anything about you.
- A random ID for this tab
- Session storageGone when you close the tab. Lets us tell one visit from another.
- Your votes, Best 11 and progress
- Local storageKept until you clear your browser data, so the site works without an account.
Sent to our database
- Every vote
- DatabaseWhich player won, which lost, which list, your browser’s random ID and the time. Kept — votes are the rankings.
- The steps of a visit
- DatabaseA short label (arrived, saw a duel, voted, skipped), the two random IDs, the time, and the website that linked you here. Deleted automatically after 180 days.
For the website that linked you here, we keep only its name — reddit.com, say — never the full link, because a full link can contain a search term or something personal.
We don’t store your IP address in our database. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs, which do include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
If you create an account
We store your email address so you can sign back in, and a display name, which starts as the first part of your email. Your votes become linked to your account so they follow you between devices.
An account is optional. Every vote on the site works without one.
Other services involved
- Vercel
- HostingRuns the website. Also counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.
- Supabase

Nobody else. We don’t sell or share this data.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including your account and every vote linked to it. Email makeyourgoat@gmail.com.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Poland that’s the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
